Islamabad: Federal Minister Ahad Cheema led a high-level meeting today to discuss strategies for enhancing regional trade by improving connectivity, focusing on strengthening regional trade corridors. The gathering also addressed the upcoming Regional Connectivity Conference set to take place this week in Islamabad.

The meeting included key figures such as Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Tauqeer Shah, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, and senior officials from various ministries.

Officials provided detailed briefings on regional connectivity initiatives, highlighting measures to fortify trade corridors and enhance infrastructure for regional trade.

Federal Minister Cheema reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advancing regional connectivity through both rail and road networks. He expressed optimism about signing significant Memorandums of Understanding at the forthcoming conference, which are expected to mark milestones for regional connectivity and economic integration.

A report on the conference preparations was presented, with representatives from nearly 10 countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, expected to attend. Cheema expressed confidence in the preparations and highlighted the significance of hosting the conference in Islamabad for the first time with high-level officials from important countries.
