LAHORE: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan held a significant meeting with the All Pakistan Goods Transporters Alliance in Lahore to tackle operational challenges, refine transport policies, and improve sector efficiency. The gathering, led by Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan, included key representatives and senior government officials who participated via video link.

According to Press Information Department, the transporters expressed gratitude to Minister Khan for the improved conduct of the Motorway Police. Minister Khan stressed the importance of the Axle Load Management Policy, issuing directives for its strict implementation and empowering the Motorway Police to register FIRs against violations. He also urged the creation of an integrated framework involving key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Industries and Federal Board of Revenue, to address industry concerns, particularly regarding freight logistics.

The meeting concluded with the Alliance expressing satisfaction with the measures and pledging cooperation with the government. A follow-up session is scheduled for September 30 to continue discussions and address ongoing issues.
