Islamabad: In a significant development, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has pledged to cover all costs for the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners long stranded in Sri Lanka, facilitating their imminent return.
According to Press Information Department, this financial commitment resolves the previous hurdles related to the costs of repatriation, which had delayed the prisoners’ release despite ongoing discussions between the Ministry of Interior and Sri Lankan authorities. Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude towards Minister Abdul Aleem Khan for his personal involvement and support, highlighting the relief this decision brings to the prisoners and their families awaiting their return.
