Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Markazi Asna Ashri Imam Bargah in the G-6 area of Islamabad, focusing on security preparations for the upcoming Muharram processions. During his visit, he engaged with community members and officials to assess and discuss the measures in place aimed at maintaining peace and order during this significant period.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the current security setup, which includes high alert statuses for police and administrative bodies. He issued directives to Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa and IG Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, to intensify efforts ensuring the safety of the processions. The minister emphasized the deployment of a control room and the strategic use of CCTV technology to monitor and manage the event’s security effectively.
Community members at the Imam Bargah relayed their approval of the security measures to the Minister, reflecting confidence in the authorities’ preparations. The visit, which included discussions with high-ranking officials such as the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ali Raza, underscored the government’s commitment to securing the event against potential disturbances.
The session concluded with Minister Naqvi reiterating the importance of vigilant and responsive security protocols during Muharram to ensure that the commemorations proceed without any security issues.
