Federal Government Expands Saut-ul-Quran Broadcast to Major Pakistani Motorways

Islamabad: Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, chaired a pivotal meeting to discuss the expansion of the Saut-ul-Quran Project, aiming to enhance the broadcast’s reach along key motorways and in multiple regional languages. The project, pivotal in promoting authentic Islamic teachings, is set to intensify its presence from Lahore to Islamabad and Islamabad to Peshawar, impacting some of the most traveled routes in the nation.

According to Press Information Department, the discussion included senior officials and Mr. Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, the Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. Prof. Iqbal underscored the importance of this expansion in today’s information age and directed an accelerated completion of the project’s Phase II by early October, coinciding with Rabi-ul-Awal. He highlighted the initiative’s significance in countering misinformation by ensuring the broad dissemination of true Islamic values.

The Saut-ul-Quran FM Network, first envisioned in 2015, aims to connect listeners directly with the Holy Quran, facilitating the proper recitation and understanding of Quranic verses translated into Urdu. The network currently spans 16 cities, with 15 transmitters delivered, five of which are operational. The ongoing installations and future extensions, including additional sites across four provinces, signify a substantial increase in the project’s scope.

This expansion not only aims to enrich spiritual knowledge across diverse linguistic groups in Pakistan but also strengthens the educational framework around Islamic teachings nationwide. Phase III of the project will further extend coverage, ensuring accessibility to these teachings for an even broader audience.
