Lahore: Today, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, accompanied by Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, visited the Regional Tax Office (RTO) in Lahore to inaugurate the Central Secretariat for the Tajir Dost Scheme.
According to Ministry of Finance announcement issued on 03 August 2024, the ministers were received by senior RTO officials including Mr. Naeem Mir, the Chief Coordinator of the Tajir Dost Scheme, and other key personnel. The visit included a detailed briefing on the operations and impact of the scheme, which is designed to facilitate traders by simplifying tax processes and enhancing compliance.
During the visit, Senator Aurangzeb expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the Tajir Dost Scheme in Lahore, which leads the nation with the highest number of trader registrations. He highlighted the scheme’s role in improving tax collection and its implementation as crucial for economic stability. The minister also discussed with trade representatives, soliciting their feedback and suggestions to refine and advance the scheme further.
Emphasizing the need for swift and effective implementation of these suggestions, Senator Aurangzeb directed that the enhancements be integrated promptly to maximize the scheme’s benefits to traders and the broader fiscal landscape.
