Federal Finance Minister Discusses Agricultural Growth with Nestle Pakistan Chairman

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged in a crucial discussion with the Chairman of Nestle Pakistan, Syed Yawar Ali, and other key agricultural stakeholders, focusing on enhancing Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors.

According to Ministry of Finance announcement issued on 09 July 2024, the meeting included insights on the current state of agriculture and livestock from Syed Yawar Ali and Ex-President Farmers Association of Pakistan, Mr. Afaq Ahmed Tiwana. The talks revolved around potential strategies to increase productivity and exports. A proposal was made for the establishment of a dedicated body to develop evidence-based policies aimed at fostering sectoral growth.

Senator Aurangzeb expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s proposals and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support these sectors through improved financing mechanisms. He assured that the government would consult relevant ministries to consider the proposed policy framework and work towards implementing actionable policies.

The meeting ended with a consensus on the importance of collaborative efforts to boost the agriculture and livestock sectors, highlighting their pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic growth and prosperity.
