Islamabad: In a significant meeting today, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged with Syed Yawar Ali, Chairman of Nestle Pakistan, and Mr. Afaq Ahmed Tiwana, Ex-President of the Farmers Association of Pakistan, to discuss boosting the agriculture and livestock sectors of Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions centered on enhancing sectoral growth and productivity. Syed Yawar Ali presented an overview of the current challenges and opportunities within these sectors, suggesting that Pakistan could greatly benefit from targeted policy initiatives aimed at increasing yields and exports. Proposals were made for the creation of a specialized body to develop evidence-based policies with input from industry experts and researchers.
Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged the importance of the agriculture and livestock sectors and reiterated the government’s dedication to strengthening these areas through improved financing options and policy support. He assured that the suggestions would be considered in consultation with relevant ministries to ensure effective implementation and to foster sectoral growth. The meeting concluded with optimistic views on the potential collaborative efforts to enhance Pakistan’s economic stability and prosperity.
