Islamabad: Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, visited the National Emergencies Operations Center (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters today, where he was briefed on the nation’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
According to National Disaster Management Authority, the visit featured a detailed exposition by NDMA Chairman Lt General Inam Haider Malik on NEOC’s advanced technological applications in disaster projection and predictive analysis. This forms a critical component of Pakistan’s Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategy, aimed at enhancing the country’s readiness for natural disasters and climate change impacts.
During his visit, Dr. Siddiqui lauded the establishment of NEOC and its role in preempting disaster scenarios through strategic use of technology. He emphasized the importance of such proactive measures in mitigating the adverse effects of natural calamities and praised the NDMA team for their commitment and expertise in managing disaster responses. The Minister expressed confidence in the robustness and adaptability of Pakistan’s disaster management systems to meet evolving challenges effectively.
