Islamabad, May 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Federal Cabinet has approved deployment of army personnel in the federal capital Islamabad. The decision has been taken in wake of the prevailing situation in different parts of the country including Islamabad in the meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair. The government took the decision to exercise the powers conferred under Article 245 (functions of armed forces) of the Constitution and Section 4 (3) (ii) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

The cabinet condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its chairman Imran Khan for their continuous diatribe against state institutions and their leadership. It has also been observed that efforts at leveling of despicable allegations of murder attacks to dragging of the national institutions into politics had been made for quite some time with continuity.

The cabinet discussed the overall situation of the country and strongly condemned violent incidents leading to damages to properties in different cities. The cabinet also discussed that the PTI leadership with a thought-out plan had been targeting the intelligence agencies and their officers which had now turned into terrorist attacks on the sensitive installments and buildings. The cabinet paid tribute to the police, all law enforcement agencies, administration who served to save the lives and property of the public and private property despite all the dangers.
