Islamabad, June 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Fiyaz Ahmed called on Speaker National Assembly in the Parliament House today. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser remarked that Budget for Financial Year 2021-2022 will usher in a new era of progress and development. He also remarked that this budget is balanced and pro people. He said that projected estimate for the next Financial Year 2021-2022 would support Agriculture, Health, Education and other Social Sectors. He also said that participation of all members were ensured in the general discussion of the Budget 2021-2022 and Members belonging to opposition benches were allotted more time as compared to Treasury benches. He also mentioned that Sixty Eight hours instead of allotted Forty hours were allotted for general discussion on Budget for Financial Year 2021-2022.
While briefing about salient features of budget Financial Year 2021-2022, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Fiyaz Ahmed applauded Speaker’s efforts for maintaining friendly and amicable atmosphere in the House during Budget Session. He informed that that Rs.900 Billion has been earmarked for Public Sector Development Programme which is 38 Percent more than from last year. He said that this is growth and development oriented budget. He mentioned that current budget focused to upgrade living standards of common people and to resolve their residential issues. He expressed his gratitude to Speaker for appreciating the professionalism of Finance Ministry to prepare and present Budget for Financial Year 2021-2022 efficiently. He also commended the keen interest of Members of National Assembly for participation in general discussion on budget 2021-2022.
