Federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governments Collaborate to Tackle Power Losses


Islamabad, In a significant move to address energy issues, the Federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments have resolved to jointly tackle power losses and improve electricity supply across the province. This agreement was reached during a meeting attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the leaders discussed strategies to enhance the energy sector’s efficiency, including a public awareness campaign to be conducted with the help of local representatives and community members. Chief Minister Gandapur committed to implementing measures for reducing electricity theft and enhancing bill recovery, with plans to promote solar energy in various parts of the province as a sustainable alternative.



The meeting also covered the development of a model for managing power losses that could be replicated in other provinces, demonstrating a unified approach to a national issue. The Federal Government’s support was acknowledged as crucial in these endeavors, with all parties expressing optimism about achieving substantial improvements in the energy sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
