FBR Surpasses Revenue Collection Target for May 2024

Islamabad, The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a significant achievement, surpassing its revenue target for May 2024 by collecting Rs. 760 billion, compared to the set target of Rs. 745 billion. This accomplishment represents a robust 31% growth in overall revenue during the first eleven months of the fiscal year compared to the same period last year.

According to Federal Board of Revenue, the growth for May 2024 alone was 33% over May 2023, with domestic taxes showing a remarkable increase of 43%. This performance underscores the government’s strategic emphasis on enhancing domestic tax collection. The FBR’s team has been commended for their determination and effort, which have been critical in achieving and exceeding the set targets.

The Chairman of FBR lauded the hard work and dedication of the FBR officers and staff, expressing confidence that the momentum would continue, enabling the FBR to meet its fiscal objectives for the closing month of the financial year, June 2024.
