Pakistan, In a significant move to widen the tax net, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established 145 district tax offices across the country. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bring two million new taxpayers into the tax system by June 2024.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the newly established tax offices will play a crucial role in increasing compliance. The FBR has also announced stringent measures for non-compliers, including cutting off electricity and gas connections and blocking mobile SIMs for those who fail to file tax returns.
