Fawad for reforms pertaining to police, prosecution and prisons

Islamabad, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has stressed the need of altogether reforms pertaining to police, prosecution, and prisons in order to improve the criminal justice system in the country. He was addressing the launching ceremony of a book titled “Encounter Cops” written by senior crime reporter Ahmad Faraz in Lahore. Chaudhry Fawad said the police system devised during British rule in 1867 is in shambles and it has not been replaced or reformed.

He said the district and rural policing was destroyed extensively and the only option left is to revamp police right from the lower level. The Information Minister stressed that the judiciary, law and police departments have to play their due role for efficient working of criminal justice system.
