Peshawar, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry recently met with Punjab’s caretaker ministers for industry, commerce and agriculture, SM Tanveer, and for housing and urban development, Azfar Ali Nasir. The meeting, which included discussions with delegations from the business community and the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar, focused on business opportunities and cooperative ventures in various sectors, including agriculture, between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Secretary Chaudhry emphasized the favorable investment environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that all necessary facilities are being provided to investors. He highlighted the potential for setting up new factories in Special Economic Zones and Industrial Estates, adding that economic opportunities are also available for women investors.
Punjab’s caretaker minister SM Tanveer stated that Punjab is ready to supply wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and emphasized the caretaker government’s focus on revitalizing the national economy through agriculture. He mentioned that a 10-year plan for the development of the agricultural sector is being prepared in consultation with stakeholders. Tanveer underscored the importance of promoting business activities for economic stabilization and asserted that progress in all units of the country is essential for national development.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both provinces to work collaboratively for the development and prosperity of the country, with a particular focus on providing facilities to industrialists to attract new investments in Punjab.
