Farooq Abdullah Warns Against Division of IIOJK on Sectarian Lines

Jammu, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has voiced concerns over efforts to divide the populace of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) along religious, regional, and linguistic lines. This strategy, he alleges, aims to dilute the region’s freedom struggle.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during discussions with party leaders in Jammu, Abdullah emphasized the importance of unity and consensus among Kashmiris to navigate the challenging circumstances in the occupied territory. He stressed the necessity for the people to remain steadfast, determined, and united in their quest for freedom from Indian governance. Abdullah highlighted the critical need for vigilance against those undermining the rights of Kashmiris and urged collective action to thwart such efforts.

In his dialogue, Abdullah also expressed criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, linking the onset of heightened difficulties for the residents of IIOJK to the period following the BJP’s rise to power in 2015. He portrayed the current situation as a direct consequence of policies implemented under Modi’s government, suggesting that these have exacerbated the hardships faced by the people in the region.
