Farooq Abdullah Criticizes BJP for Overlooking Development in Jammu Region

Srinagar: President of the National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for neglecting the developmental needs of the Jammu region in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdullah accused the BJP of ignoring critical issues such as inadequate road infrastructure, inconsistent power supply, high unemployment rates, toll plazas, job outsourcing, mining activities, and the proliferation of large retail chains. He argued that these issues highlight the BJP’s indifference towards the region’s development. In his remarks at a private event in Srinagar, Abdullah questioned the BJP’s commitment to their development promises, asking about the status of the jobs, roads, schools, and hospitals that were pledged.

Abdullah also commented on the discontinuation of the Darbar Move, a historical practice ended by the lieutenant governor-led administration installed by Delhi in 2021, underscoring its significance for the region.
