Family Tragedy Strikes in Muridke: Property Dispute Leads to Fatal Shooting


Muridke: A devastating shooting linked to a property dispute in Muridke resulted in the deaths of an elderly man and his grandson, with another family member wounded. The incident has prompted a swift response from senior law enforcement officials, emphasizing the urgency of apprehending those responsible.



According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 12 October 2024, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has taken immediate notice of the violent encounter that claimed the lives of 80-year-old Haji Latif and his 28-year-old grandson, Ubaidullah. The son, Tanveer, was also injured in the gunfire. In response, Dr. Anwar has ordered a comprehensive report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Sheikhupura and directed the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sheikhupura to prioritize the capture of the culprits.



The DPO has reported that forensic teams have gathered evidence at the crime scene and specialized units have been deployed to track down and arrest those involved in the shooting. This tragic event underscores the ongoing challenges related to property disputes in the region and the fatal consequences they can engender.
