Srinagar, A group of political experts and analysts assert that the Indian authorities have consistently crafted and propagated misleading narratives, specifically in scenarios involving Muslim-Hindu relations.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, interviews and statements from these experts in Srinagar indicate that the Indian government utilizes media channels to disseminate these questionable tales. This approach, they argue, exacerbates religious tensions and unrest in India, marking a stark contrast from more harmonious times in the nation’s past.
These specialists emphasized the significance of October 27, 1947, pinpointing it as the day when the status of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir became contentious. They argue that the narratives spun around this date are manipulated to further India’s interests. On that day, they contend, India compromised the unity, integrity, and cultural fabric of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This act, they say, was a betrayal, with India underhandedly deceiving the inhabitants of IIOJK, while paradoxically portraying itself as their rights advocate.
These experts allege that while India attributes the 1947 disturbance in Kashmir to Pakistan’s actions, this is yet another instance of India veiling its involvement. They emphasize that, contrary to India’s claims, it was indeed India that let down the people of IIOJK, even as it projected itself as their protector.
Further discussions reveal concerns over the substantial military presence India maintains in Kashmir. They argue that while the official stance labels this as a peacekeeping measure, the ground reality varies significantly. Details on the exact number of troops remain elusive.
The political experts and analysts also spotlighted a recent incident where the Indian police reportedly neutralized five “foreign” combatants in Kashmir. The authorities’ refusal to disclose their nationalities, they believe, underscores the lack of transparency characterizing India’s operations in the region. These tactics, they surmise, are designed to shore up domestic political support, potentially at the expense of the Muslim community.
