EXIM Bank President and Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Islamabad, Meeting in Shanghai, Federal Minister of Commerce, Industry and Production, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation with Mr. Ren Shengjun, President of EXIM Bank of China. President Ren expressed his aspiration to see Pakistan as a hub for Chinese productivity and development, applauding the progress of CPEC and its positive influence on Pakistan’s foreign trade and infrastructure.

According to a news release by Press Information Department, He revealed that EXIM Bank had streamlined its internal debt restructuring to simplify transactions in RMB, augmenting trade relations. Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz outlined the benefits already garnered through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the anticipation of the upcoming phase prioritizing private-to-private cooperation. Dr. Ejaz detailed Pakistan’s initiatives, including the establishment of Special Economic Zones and the formation of the Pakistan Corporate Consortium, and asked for EXIM Bank’s assistance in the relocation of industries to Pakistan. The meeting concluded with both parties restating their dedication to intensifying economic connections between Pakistan and China.
