Executive Committee of SIFC Reviews Progress on Key Sector Initiatives

Islamabad, The 6th meeting of the Executive Committee for the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) spanned two days, starting on 23 October 2023. Chaired by the Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the assembly was aimed at scrutinizing the advancement of numerous policy-driven projects in primary sectors. Attendees ranged from concerned Federal and Provincial Ministers to high-ranking government officers, all of whom deliberated on improvements in the business and investment climate.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Development and Special Initiatives, the participating ministries offered updates on diverse matters and proposed recommendations to further enhance the business and investment environment. Discussions revolved around spurring new projects and addressing challenges in pre-existing projects to bolster investor trust. The collective achievements of the ministries and departments under SIFC’s purview were acknowledged, with an emphasis on accelerating various initiatives. In conclusion, thorough discussions were conducted to establish consensus on multiple facets. The Committee proffered particular policy suggestions to ameliorate the investment landscape in sectors like Agriculture/Livestock, IT and Telecom, Mines and Minerals, and Energy.
