Islamabad, The European Union brought a slice of its culture, sustainability efforts, and partnership with Pakistan to the heart of Islamabad through the vibrant “EuroVillage” festival held today. Drawing a large crowd, the event served as a platform to showcase the deep-rooted connections between the EU and Pakistan across various sectors including development, trade, culture, and education.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this year’s EuroVillage centered on the theme “Stronger Together – Sustainable Forever,” highlighting the mutual commitment to a sustainable future. The festival, now in its fifth edition, invited residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to explore European sustainability initiatives, alongside an array of cultural, musical, and culinary offerings.
Attendees were treated to live performances by popular Pakistani artists Farhan Saeed and Quratulain Balouch, adding a local flavor to the event’s diverse entertainment lineup. A unique feature of this year’s EuroVillage was the EU-Pakistan Dosti (Friendship) truck, an art installation that melded the iconic Pakistani truck art tradition with European symbols and designs, symbolizing the partnership and cultural exchange between the EU and Pakistan.
The EuroVillage festival stands as a testament to the strong bilateral relations between the European Union and Pakistan, emphasizing shared values and cooperation in the pursuit of sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
