European Parliament Seminar Highlights Inability of India to Silence Kashmiris’ Struggle

Brussels, At a seminar held in the European Parliament in Brussels, speakers emphasized that India cannot indefinitely suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people. The event, titled “Voice of Kashmiri people in this changing world,” was part of the annual “Kashmir EU Week,” organized by the Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar focused on the growing global awareness against tyranny and the importance of supporting human rights. The speakers highlighted the increasing trend of people worldwide advocating for the oppressed and called for amplified support for the Kashmiris. They urged the international community to intervene in stopping human rights abuses in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) and to play a significant role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute.

The seminar featured various speakers, including Chairman of the Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed, Rao Mustejab Ahmad, Shiraz Raj, and others. They collectively voiced their commitment to continue advocating for the rights of Kashmiris and to engage the conscience of the global community.

The “Kashmir EU Week” consists of a series of events in Brussels, beginning with a photo exhibition on Kashmir at the European Press Club. Running until December 15, the program aims to raise awareness and foster debate on the Kashmir dispute. The seminar was attended by intellectuals, experts, and European students, culminating in a debate on the Kashmir issue at the European Parliament.

Ali Raza Syed, in his address, emphasized the impact of continuous advocacy on global perspectives about Kashmir. He expressed concern that the Modi government might exploit the current focus on conflicts in Europe and the Middle East to intensify oppressive actions in IIOJK. Syed highlighted India’s tactics, such as demographic changes and human rights violations in Kashmir, as part of its broader strategy to maintain control over the region.

In conclusion, Syed called on the international community, particularly the European Union, to take immediate steps to halt the atrocities against Kashmiris, normalize the situation in the territory, and allow Kashmiris to exercise their right to self-determination.
