Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema discussed potential financial collaborations with the European Investment Bank (EIB), which could lead to significant investment in the country’s infrastructure projects.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Cheema expressed gratitude for the EIB’s commitment of a 50 million Euro loan for the rehabilitation of the Warsak Hydro Power Project during a meeting with an EIB delegation led by Edvardas Bumsteinas, Head of Asia and Pacific. The discussions centered on expanding bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
The EIB delegation showed a particular interest in financing various critical projects in Pakistan, including those already funded by other international financial bodies. Highlighted potential ventures include the widening of the N-5 road, which is expected to enhance road connectivity and transportation efficiency, as well as investments in renewable and hydro power energy sectors.
