Jaipur: Tensions have risen in Rajasthan and Maharashtra as recent incidents highlight an increase in anti-Muslim rhetoric and calls for violence by Hindutva groups. This escalation is marked by inflammatory speeches and gatherings that have incited concern across India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a Hindu monk in the Balotra area of Rajasthan recently made headlines for a virulent speech against Muslims, in which he labeled the community in derogatory terms and called for violent retaliation. Captured in a widely circulated video, the monk can be seen addressing a fervent crowd, inciting them with threats of disproportionate violence in response to any harm against Hindus.
The situation in Maharashtra mirrors these disturbing developments. A rally in Thane, organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Sakal Hindu Samaj, featured equally provocative rhetoric. Leaders at this event openly called for genocide against Muslims, citing unfounded allegations of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh as justification for their aggressive stance. The rally concluded with hostile slogans and chants that contribute to a climate of fear and hostility towards the Muslim community.
These events reflect a broader pattern of rising anti-Muslim violence in the region, driven by extremist groups and exacerbating the vulnerabilities faced by the Muslim minority in the country.
