Islamabad: In a formal ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, the newly appointed envoys from Vietnam, Maldives, and Ireland presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari. This event marks the commencement of their official roles and is a significant step in fostering diplomatic relations between their nations and Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the credentials were presented by Ambassador-designate of Vietnam, Pham Anh Tuan; High Commissioner-designate of Maldives, Uz Mohamed Thoha; and Ambassador-designate of Ireland, Ms. Mary O’Neil. Following the ceremony, each envoy had separate meetings with President Zardari, where they discussed bilateral issues and opportunities for cooperation.
President Zardari welcomed the diplomats and expressed optimism about their contributions towards enhancing relations between their respective countries and Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and the potential benefits it holds for the involved parties.
