Islamabad, September 06, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistani cabinet members, politicians and Hurriyat leaders and organizations have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, Executive Director of Kashmir Media Service. He passed away in Islamabad, Pakistan, last night.
Pakistan Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Chairman Shahryar Afridi in a message said, “Sheikh Tajammul-ul- Islam is another sad news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He was a strong voice for Kashmir cause and rendered services for this cause all his life. My condolences and prayers for the bereaved family.”
Hurriyat leaders from occupied Kashmir and AJK chapter also expressed grief over the demise of Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam. Hurriyat leaders, including Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Javaid Ahmad Mir. Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Waseem Ahmad, Abdul Ahad Parra, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Yasmeen Raja, Zamrooda Habib, Mufti Azam, Nasirul Islam, Bar Association Advocate G N Shaheen, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Abdul Mateen, Zahid Asraf, Abdul Majeed Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Tanveerul Islam, Altaf Ahmad Butt, Shameem Shawl, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Mushtaqul Islam Khan, Syed Salahuddin, Mishaal Malik، Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and several others in their statements, paid rich tributes to Shaikh Tajammul for his immense contributions to the Kashmir cause.
The leaders said that late Shaikh Tajamul-ul-Islam was an intellectual Journalist and champion of the Kashmir cause and a gentle man with an amazing heart who sacrificed his life for the resolution to Kashmir dispute and freedom from Indian illegal occupation. They expressed heartfelt condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
The organisation of Kashmir Coalition (OKC) also remembered with great respect the departed icon and an articulate voice of the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement .In a joint statement Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl and Barrister Abdul Majid Tramboo described Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam as a courageous warrior who challenged Indian occupation and became a victim of Indian oppression.
Former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi said that Shaikh Tajammul was considered to be an authority on the Kashmir dispute. He played an important role in organizing local and international conferences on Kashmir.
