ISLAMABAD: The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has prioritized the development of the energy sector, focusing on reviving dormant facilities to bolster energy production and reduce costs. In a strategic move, the council is considering the immediate restoration of the inactive plant of Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, SIFC has directed Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited and SSGC to finalize a revenue-sharing agreement within this month. The council has also mandated Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited to settle all outstanding dues before resuming the gas supply to the plant.
The planned restoration of the Jamshoro facility aims to enhance energy production capabilities and decrease the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This initiative is anticipated to address the energy requirements of approximately 750,000 households across the region.
The SIFC’s focus on reviving energy projects aligns with broader efforts to stabilize and expand the country’s energy infrastructure, ensuring a more reliable and affordable supply for consumers.
