Karachi: Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah highlighted the necessity for the timely completion of ongoing development projects under the Energy Department, stressing the importance of merit and transparency. These remarks were made during a high-level review meeting focused on the department’s current and upcoming projects for the fiscal year 2025-26.
According to a statement by Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, the meeting brought together key figures, including Chairman of Planning and Development Board Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary of the Energy Department Mushtaq Ahmed Soomro, Project Director of SSEP Mahfooz Qazi, and CEO of STDC Saleem Shaikh, along with department heads.
The meeting involved detailed updates from officers on ongoing development schemes and a briefing on proposed projects for the next fiscal year. Minister Shah emphasized removing any hindrances in project implementation and conducted a thorough review of future development schemes.
Nasir Shah instructed the timely completion of legal and documentation processes for upcoming projects. He also called for budget proposals for unfinished projects supported by the World Bank to ensure their completion.
Najam Ahmed Shah reassured the minister of his department’s commitment to supporting the planning and documentation of development schemes, offering the assistance of the P and D department’s technical team for any arising issues.
