Encounter in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli Leaves Three Naxalites Dead


Gadchiroli, Three Naxalites, two of whom were women, were killed in an encounter with Indian forces in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, intensifying ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the region.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the clash occurred after intelligence tipped off local police about the presence of Perimili Dalam Naxalites in a forest near Katrangatta village in Bhamragad taluka. Superintendent of Police Neelotpal detailed that two units of C-60 commandos were dispatched to the area to conduct a search.



The Naxalites engaged the commandos with indiscriminate firing, which led to retaliatory fire by the forces. After the gunfire ceased, the bodies of the Naxalites, including their leader Vasu, were recovered. The operation is part of a broader initiative to suppress Naxalite activities during their Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign period.
