Empowering Youth and Strategic Policies Crucial for Pakistan’s Development, Says Speaker Sadiq


ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has highlighted the importance of empowering Pakistan’s youth and implementing strategic policies to transform demographic challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, in a message commemorating World Population Day, Speaker Sadiq emphasized the necessity of inclusive policies and collective efforts to tackle population-related challenges. He underscored the theme of this year’s observance, “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people – today and for the future,” and advocated for empowering youth through education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to build a resilient nation.



Speaker Sadiq pointed out that Pakistan faces significant challenges due to its high population growth rate, impacting education, healthcare, housing, and employment. He called for strategic policymaking and human capital development to harness the country’s young population’s potential. He highlighted the need for coordinated approaches involving Parliament, government bodies, civil society, and other societal segments to create awareness and promote informed decision-making for sustainable development.



The Speaker also assured Parliament’s commitment to supporting initiatives and legislation promoting social inclusion and public service improvement, expressing confidence in achieving balanced growth through collective efforts.



Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah echoed these sentiments, linking balanced population growth with economic progress and social well-being. He stressed the importance of strengthening education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for youth and reaffirmed Parliament’s support for long-term strategies addressing population challenges.
