Eleven Candidates Die During Excise Constable Recruitment Tests in Jharkhand


Ranchi: In a tragic incident, eleven candidates lost their lives while participating in physical tests for the recruitment of excise constables in Jharkhand, as confirmed by local police authorities on Sunday. The tests were part of a competitive examination process conducted across several districts in the state.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the physical component of the Jharkhand excise constable competitive examinations started on August 22, spanning seven centers located in the districts of Ranchi, Giridih, Hazaribag, Palamu, East Singhbhum, and Sahebganj. The unfortunate fatalities were distributed across these regions, with four occurring in Palamu, two in Giridih, two in Hazaribag, and one each at the Jaguar center in Ranchi, Mosabani in East Singhbhum, and Sahibganj center.



IG (Operations) Amol V Homkar stated that cases of unnatural death had been registered following the incidents, and investigations into the causes of these fatalities were currently active. The recruitment drive has drawn attention to the rigorous nature of the physical tests involved in the selection process for government positions.
