Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established an Election Monitoring and Control Center (EMCC) at the Election Commissioner Secretariat in Islamabad to monitor the by-elections in 2024. This new initiative is designed to facilitate public complaints and ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the EMCC allows the public to register their complaints during the by-elections. Trained staff has been appointed to provide immediate action and ensure timely redressal of complaints. The control center will operate at four levels, including the Election Commission Secretariat in Islamabad and at provincial, divisional, and district levels.
To make it easier for the public to contact the EMCC, the Election Commission has provided a dedicated helpline and an email address. The helpline can be reached at 111327000-051, and complaints can be emailed to complaints@ecp.gov.pk. The control center will operate 24/7 on the day of polling and until the final results are announced.
In addition to the helpline and email, the EMCC also offers social media and electronic media monitoring facilities. Complaints can also be sent via fax at 0519204404.
The Election Commission’s initiative is aimed at providing a seamless process for monitoring by-elections and addressing public concerns. With dedicated staff and comprehensive communication channels, the EMCC seeks to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and uphold public trust in the democratic system.
