Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is actively continuing its review of petitions concerning the results of constituencies across the National Assembly and four Provincial Assemblies. This process underscores the ECP’s commitment to ensuring the integrity and fairness of the electoral outcomes.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP is currently hearing eighty-eight petitions filed by candidates disputing the election results. This considerable number of challenges highlights the contentious nature of the elections in several constituencies and the candidates’ reliance on the ECP to address their concerns.
In addition to the hearings, the ECP has taken a proactive step by establishing a designated cell within its Islamabad building for the registration of complaints related to the election process. This move is aimed at streamlining the complaint resolution mechanism, allowing for a more organized and efficient handling of grievances.
The ongoing hearings and the establishment of a complaints registration cell reflect the ECP’s efforts to maintain transparency and fairness in the electoral process, reinforcing its role as a pivotal institution in Pakistan’s democratic framework.
