Election Commission of Pakistan Refutes Misleading Media Reports on Appointment of DROs/ROs

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has categorically denied recent media reports regarding the appointment of retired officers as District Returning Officers (DROs) and Returning Officers (ROs) for upcoming elections. The ECP clarified that these reports are baseless and do not align with the facts.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the misleading reports suggested that the Commission had decided to appoint retired officers as DROs and ROs, which is not the case. The ECP has not issued any report confirming such decisions. The Commission has reiterated its commitment to conducting clean, transparent, and impartial general elections. To this end, the ECP has been in constant communication with provincial election commissioners to generate updated lists for the appointment of DROs and ROs.
