Election Commission of Pakistan Outlines Voter Data Correction Process

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released a new procedure for the public to update voter registration, transfer, and data correction in line with the details on their identity cards. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that the electoral rolls are accurate and up-to-date, reflecting the current status of voters in accordance with legal provisions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP has made Forms 21, 22, and 23 available for individuals looking to make changes to their voter information. These forms can be submitted to the District Election Commissioner or Registration Officer of the relevant district. The process is part of the ECP’s efforts to facilitate voters in maintaining the integrity of the electoral rolls.

The Commission also highlighted that the opportunity for voter registration, transfer, and data validation will remain open until the by-election schedule is issued. However, once the by-election schedule is released, the process for registration, transfer, and validation of votes will be temporarily suspended in the constituencies where by-elections are set to take place.

This announcement is crucial for ensuring that all eligible voters have their details correctly listed in the electoral rolls, enabling them to participate in the electoral process without any hindrances. The ECP’s proactive measures aim to enhance the democratic process by allowing for greater accuracy and transparency in voter data management.
