This move is part of the preparations for the crucial election to the office of the President of Pakistan, ensuring a smooth and orderly electoral process.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the appointed officers are tasked with receiving nomination papers from candidates and chairing the meetings of the Parliament at the Parliament House in Islamabad, as well as those of the Provincial Assemblies in their respective provinces during the presidential polling. The assignments reflect a significant step towards facilitating the electoral process, aiming to uphold the integrity and transparency of the election.

The notification details the responsibilities of each presiding officer: the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court is designated to oversee the elections within the Senate and National Assembly in Islamabad. In Punjab, a Member of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Election Commission-1, is assigned to supervise polling at the Provincial Assembly. The Chief Justices of the Sindh, Peshawar, and Balochistan High Courts are responsible for supervising the presidential elections in their respective provincial assemblies in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
