Election Commission of Pakistan Initiates Removal of Illegal Campaign Hoardings Ahead of Elections

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has deployed monitoring teams to commence the removal of illegal advertisement hoardings featuring candidates for the upcoming National and Provincial assembly elections.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP’s actions align with its Code of Conduct, which prohibits individuals and political parties from affixing or distributing campaign materials such as posters, handbills, pamphlets, leaflets, banners, or portraits exceeding specified sizes. This measure is part of the ECP’s efforts to ensure a level playing field for all candidates and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.

Additionally, the Election Commission has established the Election Monitoring and Control Center at both provincial and district levels to facilitate swift resolution of complaints. This step is indicative of the ECP’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections by enforcing regulations and addressing electoral grievances efficiently.

These initiatives reflect the ECP’s proactive approach in managing the election process and upholding democratic principles in Pakistan.
