Election Commission of Pakistan Extends Vote Registration Deadline to Saturday

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced a new deadline for vote registration, transfer, and data correction, allowing citizens additional time until Saturday to make necessary updates.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the decision followed a meeting in Islamabad today, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja. The move aims to better accommodate the needs of the general public. Prior to this revision, 25th October had been set as the final date for the public to register votes, initiate transfers, and correct any discrepancies in the electoral rolls.

Emphasizing the significance of this move, the election commission has urged citizens to make the most of the extended timeframe. For those seeking to register or transfer their votes, Form 21 is readily accessible on the election commission’s official website, www.ecp.gov.pk. After completing the form, individuals are required to submit it to their respective District Election Commission office for processing.

In an inclusive approach, the commission highlighted that all Pakistani citizens, aged eighteen and above – encompassing women, the youth, minority groups, persons with disabilities, the transgender community, and other marginalized sections — have the option to verify their vote details. By sending their identity card number to 8300, individuals can swiftly check the status and information associated with their vote.
