Election Commission of Pakistan Announces New Constituency Arrangement Post-Census

Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially released the final list of constituencies for the national and provincial assemblies, based on the outcomes of the 7th Population and Housing Census 2023. This new arrangement is set to redefine electoral boundaries and seat allocations across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the total seats in the National Assembly have been set at 336. This includes 266 general seats, 60 reserved for women, and 10 seats allocated for non-Muslims. In a similar restructuring, the four provincial assemblies of the country will now have a total of 749 seats, comprising 593 general seats, 132 reserved for women, and 24 for non-Muslims. This reorganization reflects the demographic changes captured in the latest census and is a crucial step in ensuring fair and representative electoral processes in Pakistan.
