Islamabad, 11 Oct 2023:A consultative meeting in Islamabad, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, brought together the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and representatives of political parties to deliberate on the code of conduct for the forthcoming general elections, according to a press release from MOIB. The Commission, ensuring to give substantial consideration to the parties’ proposals for necessary amendments to the code of conduct, vowed strict implementation to ascertain free, fair, and transparent elections.

During the dialogue, political party representatives presented their feedback and proposals concerning the elections’ code of conduct. The Election Commission pledged not only to carefully ponder upon the proposed amendments but also to stringently enforce the finalized code of conduct in the upcoming general elections, thereby ensuring they are conducted in a manner that is transparent, fair, and free from prejudice.
