Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the completion of all necessary arrangements for the upcoming general elections scheduled for Thursday, setting the stage for a significant democratic exercise.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, over 120 million registered voters are expected to participate, casting their votes for candidates vying for seats in the National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The commission has prepared 90,675 polling stations across the country to facilitate the electoral process. These include 41,403 combined polling stations, with 25,320 designated for male voters and 23,952 for female voters.
The election features 5,121 candidates contesting for 266 general seats in the National Assembly, including 4,807 men, 312 women, and two transgender candidates. Additionally, the polls will determine the allocation of 593 general seats across the four provincial legislatures.
