Islamabad, Today marks the final opportunity to address appeals against decisions concerning nomination papers for the upcoming general elections, as determined by Appellate Tribunals led by High Court judges.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, these tribunals, comprising High Court judges, are tasked with resolving disputes related to the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers. This step is a critical component of the election preparation process, ensuring transparency and fairness in candidate selection for the general elections. The tribunals’ decisions today will influence the composition of the preliminary list of candidates, which is scheduled to be displayed tomorrow.
The election schedule further stipulates that candidates have until Friday to withdraw their nomination papers. Following this deadline, a revised list of candidates will be published, also on Friday. This list will provide voters with a final roster of individuals contesting in the elections.
The allocation of electoral symbols, a key element in the voting process, is set for Saturday. This step will provide a visual identity for each candidate or party in the general elections, facilitating voter recognition and choice. The culmination of these preparatory stages will lead to the polling for the general elections, scheduled for the 8th of the following month.
