Srinagar, November 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has said that arbitrary expulsion of employees may have far reaching consequences and will only further alienate the masses. The occupation authorities on the directives of Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government are terminating the services of government employees in IIOJK for their affiliation with the ongoing freedom movement.
EJAC President, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum, in an interview in Srinagar said there may be “some trivial issues” that merit reprimand for the sake of accountability but sacking employees forthwith and giving out no tangible reasons is “dictatorial and unconstitutional.”
He said, it is a well-known fact that one seeks employability not for his/her individual needs only but the job caters to the needs of the entire family, dependants of the employee. Hence showing exit to one person is depriving livelihood rights to a whole family, he told media after an EJAC meeting in Srinagar.
The EJAC president maintained that personal vendetta couldn’t be ruled out in such expulsions. There has to be substantial evidence on account of such actions but momentarily it seems that the expulsion of the employees is arbitrary and has no concrete basis, he said.
“The terminated people must be given a chance to be heard so that justice prevails,” he said, adding, “There has to be a charge-sheet in which charges levelled against an employee be made explicit.” Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam said that the genuine demands of government employees were being ignored by the administration, which is more interested in doing away with them.
