Quetta: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar spearheaded a pivotal meeting at the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) aimed at enhancing medical services at Civil Hospital Quetta. The meeting, attended by key department heads from the Civil Hospital, delved into strategic measures for improving medical care and service delivery at the province’s largest government hospital.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting involved prominent figures such as Secretary Health Balochistan Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, MS Civil Hospital Quetta Dr. Noorullah Khan MusaKhel, and Principal Bolan Medical College Professor Dr. Raz Muhammad Kakar, among others. The discussions centered on creating a structured framework to evaluate the performance of medical superintendents in tertiary care hospitals, assigning them targets for enhancement, and conducting regular reviews to monitor progress.
Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar emphasized the swift implementation of both short-term and long-term plans within government hospitals, aiming for these improvements to directly benefit the underprivileged and broader community. He highlighted the importance of overcoming obstacles to expedite project implementation without unnecessary delays. Kakar also expressed concern over any interruptions in medical services at Civil Hospital Quetta, stressing its critical role as a central healthcare provider accessible to all residents.
Further, the minister underscored the necessity for regular meetings with department heads to address issues related to service delivery, financial constraints, manpower, and logistics at the hospital promptly. He welcomed suggestions from the meeting participants, advocating for effective measures to significantly enhance the health sector and committing to ongoing consultation meetings.
