Efforts afoot to make Islamabad safest city: SSP

Islamabad, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Syed Mustafa Tanweer on Tuesday said efforts were afoot to make Islamabad the safest city as it was foremost priority of the federal capital police.

He said that, during last 24 hours Islamabad Police arrested 13 accused from different areas of the city.

 

According to the details, a PS Koral police team headed by SHO Koral Shoukat Abbasi including ASI Jafar Ali arrested a wanted member of a burglar gang identified as Abdul Aziz resident of Afghanistan and recovered cash, gold ornaments and weapons from him. Koral police had also arrested six accused involved in aerial-firing and threatening citizens namely Safdar, Abdul Saboor, Najeeb Ullah, Abdul Razzaq, Inzamam and Asif, also recovered arm ammunition from their possession.

 

Meanwhile Nilore police arrested four accused Asar Mehmood, Majid Hussain, Amir Shahzad and Mehboob and recovered one Kalashnikov, one 12 bore and two 30 bore pistols and ammunition from their possession. Shahzad Town police arrested accused Nadeem and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Ramana police arrested accused Abdul Rahim and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

 

DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar and SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer have appreciated the performance and directed all Station House Officers for effective crackdown against that involvement in drug peddling activities. He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from such menace. He said that performance in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
