Dukki: Superintending Engineer Loralai, Abdul Karim Loni, has reported significant success in water storage across several dams in Loralai, Mosikhel, Dukki, and Barkhan districts following recent rainfall. These efforts have effectively protected local lands and waterways from potential damage, with ongoing measures to provide relief to the community despite limited resources.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Engineer Loni confirmed that the dams in the mentioned districts are currently stable and possess sufficient capacity to accommodate additional water. The engineering teams are vigilantly monitoring all facilities around the clock, ensuring that no damages occur. Regular checks on development projects in these districts are also conducted daily to maintain safety and operational standards.
The construction of these dams was carried out under the direct orders from the Minister of the Irrigation Department, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Imrani, with the oversight of Secretary Irrigation Hafiz Abdul Majid and Chief Engineer Irrigation Bashiruddin Tareen. The staff of the department remains on high alert, prepared to respond with necessary machinery at a moment’s notice.
During a recent inspection of an under-construction dam in Dukki district, Engineer Loni, accompanied by key departmental figures including Axin Irrigation Division Dukki Israr Ahmad Tokhai and others, emphasized the importance of maintaining work pace and quality. He warned that any negligence would lead to strict departmental actions.
In addition to field visits, Engineer Loni also inspected the Dukki Irrigation Office and Colony, directing immediate preparation and submission of repair estimates to manage funding through higher authorities.
In his concluding remarks, Engineer Loni urged the public to exercise caution around the stored water, highlighting the risks due to the depth and swampy conditions which pose safety hazards.
