Islamabad: Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, convened significant meetings at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, focusing on crime reduction through effective policing and community support, as reported by a public relations officer.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meetings were attended by senior officials including SSP Operations Muhammad Arslan Shahzeb, SP Dolphin Iqbal Khan, zonal SPs, and SHOs from all police stations. The agenda centered on reviewing the performance of officers and SHOs, with a directive to enhance patrolling efforts to address street crime and other criminal activities.
IGP Rizvi stressed the importance of collaboration between SHOs and the community to eradicate criminal elements and achieve arrests of land grabbers and individuals involved in serious crimes. He called for increased security measures and an expansion of patrolling efforts. He mandated that police vehicles should patrol their areas continuously, and beat officers should be actively engaged with local issues.
The IGP instructed investigation in-charges to establish special raiding teams for the capture of criminal elements. Moreover, SHOs were advised to be present at police stations to address citizen grievances and prioritize the resolution of complaints at the station level.
The review extended to the Dolphin Squad, with a call for increased patrols across the city. In emergencies, Dolphin Squad officers are expected to act as first responders. IGP Rizvi reiterated the Islamabad Police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens’ lives, property, and dignity through dedicated efforts.
