Effective Parliament Ensures Prosperity and Inclusive Development: National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad, August 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri remarked that Parliament being the representative of masses can ensure prosperity and inclusive development in the country. They said that legislating for the welfare of common people would bring positive changes in their lives. They expressed these views on the occasion of Platinum ceremony of 1st Constituent Assembly of Pakistan which held its first Session on 10th August 1947.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser remarked that the incumbent Parliament is cognisant of its responsibilities and exercising its parliamentary oversight on executive. He remarked that both Treasury and opposition benches have vital role to play for strengthening Parliament as Parliament is the place where decisions are made on the basis of aspirations of masses. He said Opposition plays a vital role in smooth functioning of the Parliament. He also mentioned that this parliament is true representative of people who would strengthen democracy and democratic norms in the country.

Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Parliament represents will of common people and it is the only forum which can affectively raise the issues of masses. He said that it is the institution of Parliament which nourishes democratic values and norms in any society. Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri said that Parliament represents democracy and democratic values. He said that parliament is the place where policies are made as per the aspirations and demand of masses. He said that this incumbent government is especially focusing on bringing positive changes in the lives of common people.
